Martin is a Partner and member of the Investment Committee at HEAL Partners.
Martin is an experienced Company CEO, Chairman and Managing Director. He has over 30 years of operating and Board experience in technology, consumer, telco and media with leading brands including PBL, Optus, Dixons, Rank, PepsiCo, and IBM.
Martin was Managing Director of Optus Consumer and Multi-Media Division between 2000-2004 with more than $1.7bn of revenues under his divisional leadership. He took the business from loss making to profitability in that time.
Whilst at PBL from 2005-2009, Martin was the CEO of New Media, and was accountable for the digital transformation across all the Media Assets, whilst representing PBL on the majority of the Boards of its Media and technology assets. Martin led investments in education software platforms in Mathletics (3P Learning) and Intrepica (Literacy Planet) during his time at PBL and whilst advising Ellerston Capital.
Martin has held Non-Executive Director and alternate Director roles within many of Australia's leading media and online brands, including PBL Media (Nine Network and ACP Magazines), FOXTEL, Mediaworks (NZ), Fox Sports, Hoyts, Ticketek, SEEK, Carsales, NineMSN, Betfair, Sky News, and iSelect.
Martin is a founding investor and non-exec Director since incorporation of Plenti Group Limited, now a leading marketplace consumer lender with more than $1B of origination. Martin is also currently an independent Non-Executive Director on the Board of KPMG Australia, and a Member of their Investment Committee and Board Investment Committee. He is also presently Chairman of Hometime Group Pty Ltd, Australia’s leading AirBnB Property Management and Technology Group, Chairman of ActivePipe, a leading Marketing Automation SaaS platform for Real Estate. Chairman of Realtair Pty Ltd, a back-office platform for Real Estate offices and agents, and Non-Executive Director at Michael Cassel Group Pty Ltd (Australia’s leading Theatre Producer).
Martin was also previously an Investment Partner in Morpheus Ventures I, a US based disruption Venture Capital Fund, with portfolio companies in Australia, Europe and the US.
