Stuart brings an innovative and energetic approach to delivering commercial success and expanding the boundaries of healthcare.
He was a driving force behind the establishment of Icon Group. He believed it was possible to bring together cancer treatment, pharmacy and compounding services to deliver a more integrated approach to care, closer to home for patients.
Beyond Icon’s Australian base, Stuart was an early advocate of the Group’s global potential. He played an active role in the Group’s expansion into Singapore and the wider ASEAN region, while overseeing growth into Hong Kong and China. After acting as Founding Chairman from 2012-2014 he returned to Chair of the Icon Board again from 2017-2020 following the purchase of a majority stake in Icon by a consortium including Goldman Sachs & QIC.
His energetic and innovative approach has delivered significant commercial success and expanded the boundaries of healthcare. He joined the Board of Qscan Imaging in 2017 as co-investors alongside Quadrant Private Equity and has played a pivotal role in the rapid growth of this business in the last 3 years.
He has been publicly recognised for his commercial expertise in forums including the 2010 Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year where he was named a Regional Winner and National Finalist and Monash University’s Distinguished Alumni Award for Professional Achievement in 2019.
A pharmacist by background, Stuart and his wife, Cathie Reid, owned and operated a network of Epic pharmacies around Australia for over 20 years until the recently announced sale of these interests.
Stuart is passionate about contributing to the community and served on the Board of Directors for the AEIOU Foundation for children with autism. He supported medical research as a Founding Platinum Sponsor of the Gallipoli Research Foundation, before he and Cathie launched the Epic Good Foundation in 2015.
